As preparation for the upcoming cultural festival (bunkahappyokai) in December, the first-year students have been writing about themselves and interviewing each other.
This year’s first year students are in a unique position of forming student groups to help each other throughout the school year.
These groups are called C-Life groups.
The “C” from C-Life group can have many meanings; create, collaborate, challenge, care, council, and chance are some of them.
But at Kaisei there is a hidden meaning within its pronunciation. “C-Life” sounds like sea-life in English.
All the classes have recently changed their C-Life groups, so this was the perfect opportunity for them to practice talking about themselves and asking other students questions to get to know them.
They are still in the information gathering step of this project, but they will make illustrated English posters to introduce the members of their C-Life groups.
Hopefully many of you will be able to see them during the Junior High School’s cultural festival.
